Dear, Good Morning. I have a notebook with Windows Vista Home Basic 32-bit Service Pack 2 operating system installed, with 1.73GHz Intel Pentium Dual CPU T2370 and 2GB of RAM, with 500GB of HDD. I'm trying to find a software developed by Alex Feinman (MVP REconnect) called ISO Recorder which the author says is on MSDN downloads. On the "Alex Feinman" page, there is no contact information for the author. In internet research I found the author's link, but all are broken. The links are; http://isorecorder. Continue reading...

by Guest KeriBenoit- 0 replies

My laptop has been having issues, so today was the day, was gonna figure it all out. Long story short, a page I was reading said to disable all in Task Manager. Something told me don't do it, but I did. Now I cannot get past the sign in pin!! I had Dell on the phone forever, he was trying a system restore, I could not remember my Microsoft password, so I changed it on my old desktop. Now it won't accept it at all on the laptop. Dell said they cannot fix the laptop so I am SOOL. If I had my Microsoft password before today I could do a system restore, but I cannot get past the PIN start p Continue reading...

Forgot MSN email password and unable to get a new one
by Guest VanderKnocket- 0 replies
I have unsuccessfully tried to obtain a new password because I forgot my old password for my MSN emails. However I was able to successfully access my MSN emails on my older computer through fire fox which has it saved. I searched and found that I could see the passwords saved on fire fox through the setting feature. Unfortunately MSN email is not on the list. Every time I go into the MSN security feature it requires that I input the password, which I cannot recall and if I press forgot password it asks me questions that I cannot recall the answers. So I'm stuck. Ive been in this loophole for Continue reading...

Scrolling Credits in MovieMaker deleting random end letters after publishing
by Guest PALEOMan73- 0 replies
I have been using Windows MovieMaker on my old Vista desktop for many years, It has its quirks and issues, but I have found it to be easy to use to create videos and slide shows. I like it much better than the newer versions. I recently went to publish a storyboard I completed with a series of home movie videos. As I usually do, I like to include scrolling credits and info at the end of the video. Usually this is no problem, but this time, when I view the published .wmv video, some of the text in the scrolling credits are missing the last letter or sometimes two. All of the text is there when Continue reading...

How can I backup my Recovery Keys and EFS Certificates* I went to the Control Panel* Security Online Backup* I tried signing in (yes I used an app password),and it just keeps saying username and password incorrect.I know that operating systems older than Windows 8 require app passwords when linking operating system to a live account (msn, office, or xbox). But regardless it never works for me.My computer came with Windows 7 but the system kept crashing, so now I am using a preactivated copy of Windows Vista Ultimate SP2 6.0.0.6002 (64-bit), my system crashed so I had to reformat it, since I ha Continue reading...

Trying to recover files from what appears to be a corrupted USB drive. You can read the drive and it scans as clean. File and folder names have been changed to strange characters. I believe someone took the drive home from work and put in there own computer and perhaps ejected incorrectly. Also look at this https://tvmounting.solutions/.Any hope in recovering any of these files. Continue reading...

Boot critical file d:\windows\system32\drivers\partmgr.sys is corrupt
by Guest Columbus Brownlock- 0 replies

So basically, it started in a startup repair and runs for a long time, then this message (the title of this post) appears in the diagnostics and repair details. My condition is, i dont have the disk installation for my windows vista so i cant repair using it; then for some unexplainable reason, there are no system restore points that i could even use to restore the system (though there should be at least 1 there). Also, even i restarted my laptop a lot of times, it always stuck at repair mode, and its startup repair cant fix the problem.Any help?I wish there is another way to replace the corru Continue reading...

My Outlook emails have been working great for many years. I changed my password and now cannot get Outlook to send emails. The error message specifies 'Outlook data file cannot be accessed'. So, I follow instructions to view the data files. On the E-mail Accounts, tab called E-mail, i see my email address and a comment about which data file new messages are being delivered. When i go to the Data Files tab, i cannot change the default because it is grey out. I need to fix this email setting somehow. Continue reading...

No Wireless Network Adaptor installed of Configured - HELP!
by Guest Lotho Button- 0 replies

If ANYONE knows how to fix this, it would be awesome.I was online the other night, computer is having cooling issues, and got the BSOD, and it stated a crash dump was in progress. I switched it off, as I have done before, and let it sit for about 30 minutes. After switching the computer back on, I noticed that my normally blue WI-FI light on my HP DV6000 which has Windows Vista Home Premium (32bit) installed, was not turning blue, and that the light remained orange. I had the red X through the wireless connection icon, and when I clicked on it, it read : No Wireless Network adaptor installed o Continue reading...

Transferring emails from Windows Vista Mail into Outlook 2003 on new computer
by Guest Adelgrim Greenhand- 0 replies

Probably an unusual question but would appreciate help with it.My Windows Vista laptop hard drive has been diagnosed as all but dead and there is a particular email folder that I would like to preserve in its entirety for future reference. I'd like to export it from Vista to a USB stick then into Outlook 2003 which I have successfully installed on a new Windows 10 laptop (because I like the format). I am finding that emails saved onto the USB drive (and this is taking a while because the computer keeps freezing) are in random order and with no identifiable name so I can't tell whic Continue reading...

The drive itself on my Windows Vista 32-bit computer works. I have Service Pack 2 installed, if that helps to know. I can install and utilize media discs. The error message I get is "Please insert a disc into drive D:" and then it gets ejected.I read another, similar problem on this forum with bogus advice that says to hit the Windows key + C to get some kind of Charms bar, etc., but doing so doesn't actually do a single thing on my #$%^@%# computer.I need an actual solution for this irritating problem because this is pure *%^$#@!, to say the least.
