Win10 64 bit not restarting
by Guest Patrick Dixon DPAS- 0 replies

My VM has been in this state for about 8 hours. It is Win10 64 bit. This morning it prompted to restart and apply updates. I closed down all apps and the restarted. It took about 2 hours to show any progress, and then started showing progress applying updates. It got to 30% and then showed Restarting. It has been this way for nearly the whole day. It seems to be stuck. Should I continue to wait, force a reboot, etc? Continue reading...

Upgrade to Windows 11
by Guest JamesJennings4- 0 replies

I currently am running an older Desktop PC as a file server with Windows 10 Pro. The hardware won't support Windows 11 so I've ordered a new PC with OEM W11 Pro installed. I'm looking for the easiest way to upgrade my current setup to the new PC. Can I put the main C Windows drive from the old W10 PC into the new PC and upgrade it to W11 using the OEM license from the new PC- so that W11 Pro is installed on the older drive? I think that might be easier than reinstalling every program and all settings from the old W10 PC. Is that possible? If so, what are the steps? Thanks.James Continue reading...

Why does my microphone play both my voice and my pc audio.
by Guest Misterjacks- 0 replies

I've been having this issue for quite a while now and have had it with both my headsets (I don't remember the model of the older one). I use a "Cepter Atilla gaming headset" and my PC's motherboard is an "ASUS PRIME H610M-A WIFI D4" and my PC uses Windows 11 Home version 23H2, 64-bit. When I look at the sound settings I can see that while I watch videos, the audio from the video is being played through "Realtek® Audio" as both input and output (The input volume is lower than the output volume). This also translates to Discord where people I talk to can hear what I'm watching, and if they spe Continue reading...

It it safe to delete the "C:\Windows\WinSxS\Temp\PendingDeletes" files?
by Guest рідина рідка- 0 replies

I've been trying to make some space on my C: drive without formating it, so I used WinDirStat to check some gigantic files I don't need and have found the "C:\Windows\WinSxS\Temp\PendingDeletes" folder. It is huge (52 GB), full with "$$Deleteme..." files and some of them are even older than my purchase of the computer, so I would like to ask - is it safe to delete them? Please consider that because I usually have between 2 and 9 GB free on my C: disk, I can't get the latest updates, so anytime Windows starts the update, it doesn't finish and gets withdrawn, so I suspect that those files might Continue reading...

Registry editor / SketchUp not opening
by Guest Josh Murphy3- 0 replies

I've got an weird problem that I've wasted many hours trying to figure out. Long story short I was have a "nonpaged pool" issue with my memory leaks. I've read this number shouldn't get over 1GB, and this number was climbing from the moment I turned on my machine. My memory would also max out, making everything super slow. After a few searches I found some tweaks in the registry that stabilized that issue. But now my Sketchup doesn't open. I've narrowed it down to the following registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\Null"When this is set to the standard "1" I have memor Continue reading...

Windows 11 Display Issue - Open windows/apps do not lock to available monitors when connected to docking station
by Guest Catherine Lindner1- 0 replies

I recently bought a Lenovo ThinkBook with Windows 11 23H2 (OS Build 22631.3672). When I connect it to my docking station with two external monitors, the open windows/apps can be slid between the two monitors, BUT also to the laptop monitor, even though the laptop lid is closed. The display shows only two monitors and "Extend these displays" option is selected, but I can still slide an open window off the screen. It moves over the closed-lid laptop. To access that window/app again, I need to open the laptop lid, find the window and move it back to one of the docking station monitors.Expected be Continue reading...

Turned my pc on for the first time since last night and plugged headset in to find my pc wouldn't recognise it. I tried troubleshooting through windows, and it said it was a driver problem but I couldn't fix it itself, I looked at my sound drivers in device manager to try and update them but there wasn't anything there that looked like what I wanted. I also tried to download the drivers from MSIs website but that also didn't work and that's when I ran out of ideas so I came here.My pc is the MSI mag infinite S10 if anyone is wondering Continue reading...

OneDrive deleted my Windows 10 user profile
by Guest David Atkins1- 0 replies

OneDrive decided to DELETE MY USER PROFILE in Windows 10 instead of just backing up the folder!! I can't tell you the hassle reconstructing this folder has been to myself and my computer builder/software support personnel. I understand OneDrive is joined at the hip to Office 365 so I can't remove OneDrive from my computer completely, but I wish to insulate the rest of my computer against future unauthorized deletions. After a software upgrade, OneDrive took it upon itself to start backing up these files. I didn't authorize the program to go off on its own, and by the time I discovered the dama Continue reading...
