We'd love to hear your feedback about a new feature proposal that we think will give you more control over the performance of your website or native application, by constraining the performance impact of any web content that you might embed. When it comes to optimizing the performance of your app, you're often limited by the performance of the content your app embeds. Embedded content may be 3rd party iframes for example, but it can also be shared components or apps from other teams within your organization. A common case is when an application gets embedded and starts causing performance problems because it wasn't originally designed for embedded scenarios. Being abl…

This will allow developers to iterate faster, bringing more innovation to their users, and making the extensions more reliable, robust, and secure. To support this, we have implemented an expedited review process for high-quality and high-value extensions. Select extensions will enjoy a priority queue with faster review times. These extensions are automatically chosen based on a broad set of parameters, including: User value, as indicated by user adoption of the extension, user feedback, and o…

Microsoft Edge is racing into the new year with faster and more responsive features than ever before. Starting with Microsoft Edge 132, many of the browser's most important features, such as Downloads, Drop, History, and the inPrivate new tab experience are now a lot faster. In fact, no less than 14 different areas of the user interface throughout the browser are now 40% faster than before, on average. (This includes Favorites and Browser Essentials, which we had already mentioned in our earlier blog post: An even faster Microsoft Edge.) These improvements are all made possible thanks to our effort to migrate the browser UI to WebUI 2.0, our markup-first architecture t…
