Find and manage your installed apps and sites
by Guest Microsoft Edge Team- 0 replies

Installing websites as Windows applications with Microsoft Edge has never been easier. If Microsoft Edge detects that a site is installable, the App available button appears in the address bar. But even if the site isn’t installable (i.e. if it’s not a Progressive Web App), you can still install it. This is currently done by going into the Apps menu and clicking Install this site as an app. Even better, the installed sites and apps behave just like Windows applications: they can be pinned in the Taskbar, or launched from the Start menu for example. We love hearing feedback about features like this. Not only do we initially build them based on your needs, but we also take…

Twenty years ago, a small group within Microsoft took on a seemingly audacious ambition at that time: to create a video game console from scratch and take on much more established competitors. Despite many obstacles, Xbox was born. And, over two decades, it became a lasting presence ubiquitous in gaming and pop culture throughout the world. But until now, the full story of those humble beginnings, stops and starts hasn’t been told from a comprehensive inside perspective. “Power On: The Story of Xbox” is a new six-part docuseries that’s streaming for free so anyone can check out that tumultuous journey – hearing directly from those who were there when it all started, some …

Last year, the Compat 2021 effort made tangible progress on improving five of the top pain points for web developers. Microsoft, in collaboration with Google and Igalia, contributed a rewrite of the CSS Grid module in Blink, along with bug fixes for CSS Transforms. Representatives from Apple, Bocoup, Google, Igalia, Microsoft, and Mozilla collectively agreed that the effort’s name did not accurately reflect its intent to address core interoperability gaps between browsers. This year, Microsoft is again pleased to announce its participation in the more aptly named Interop 2022 effort. Sonic the Hedgehog races into Minecraft in updated downloadable content that's now available. “From the creative masterminds at Gamemode One and SEGA, this update brings back the Labyrinth Zone, a level from the 1991 game that taught me a) exploring ruins is awesome and b) don’t trust gargoyles,” writes Sophie Austin on Minecraft.net. “Armed with a new mission, you’ll have to dodge obstacles and navigate traps as you try and stop the Master Emerald from falling into nefarious hands! And if that’s not motivation enough for you, then should I mention the new character skins? That’s right, on top of the 24 existing skins, there’ll be five brand new ones!” Open up the Marketp…
