Today the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) in the Microsoft Store is dropping its “Preview” label and becomes generally available with our latest release! We are also making the Store version of WSL the default for new users who run [iCODE]wsl --install[/iCODE] and easily upgradeable by running [iCODE]wsl --update[/iCODE] for existing users. Using the Store version of WSL allows you to get updates to WSL much faster compared to when it was a Windows component. In response to the WSL community’s requests, WSL in the Store will now also be available on Windows 10 in addition to Windows 11. So, Windows 10 users will also be able to enjoy all of the latest features for WS…

Because most consumers live a multi-screen life—moving from smartphones to PCs and back again—the lines between “mobile” and “desktop” have blurred. In turn, the behaviors consumers are accustomed to on mobile are transferable to the way people expect apps on PCs to look, feel, and function. Develop…

When As Dusk Falls debuted in July, it culminated eight years of conceptualization and introduced an independent studio. It also showed off a video game in which hundreds of people can play together across platforms – and through their collective choices, create different outcomes for the characters in an interactive crime drama that spans three decades. This is the first game from the INTERIOR/NIGHT studio, headed by Caroline Marchal, its CEO and creative director. “I’m very proud that this is our first game as a studio,” says Marchal, who acts as the showrunner for this specific game. “It’s not often you can make a first impression, and I wanted ours to be bold.” As…

by Guest Athima Chansanchai, Writer- 0 replies

For Dr. Alper Kaya, the darkest days of his life happened about 10 years after he found out he had ALS. Based in Turkey, the ophthalmologist felt fortunate in that the disease progressed slowly, after the initial diagnosis of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis in 1990. He could still perform surgeries, help patients and play classical guitar – one of the constants in his life, ever since he was a teenager. After about a decade, he lost the use of his hands to do those things he loved. He lost hope, too. At the time, it felt unbearable. But with the help of his daughter, he found other ways to make music again. Assistive technology gave him the ability to blow into a MIDI wind …
