Find and manage your installed apps and sites

Installing websites as Windows applications with Microsoft Edge has never been easier. If Microsoft Edge detects that a site is installable, the App available button appears in the address bar. But even if the site isn’t installable (i.e. if it’s not a Progressive Web App), you can still install it. This is currently done by going into the Apps menu and clicking Install this site as an app. Even better, the installed sites and apps behave just like Windows applications: they can be pinned in the Taskbar, or launched from the Start menu for example. We love hearing feedback about features like this. Not only do we initially build them based on your needs, but we also take…

For Xbox Wire’s Mike Nelson, getting older means reminiscing more often about the places he’s lived and traveled throughout the world, and marveling at the growing list of countries he wants to visit. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 has become a “conduit of nostalgia” for those journeys. Because the sim is a “digital twin” of Earth, he can virtually fly over any of those locations and even get out of his plane to explore even further. Head over to Xbox Wire to read more about his deep dive into this aspect of MSFS 2024.View the full article

Sonic the Hedgehog races into Minecraft in updated downloadable content that's now available. “From the creative masterminds at Gamemode One and SEGA, this update brings back the Labyrinth Zone, a level from the 1991 game that taught me a) exploring ruins is awesome and b) don’t trust gargoyles,” writes Sophie Austin on Minecraft.net. “Armed with a new mission, you’ll have to dodge obstacles and navigate traps as you try and stop the Master Emerald from falling into nefarious hands! And if that’s not motivation enough for you, then should I mention the new character skins? That’s right, on top of the 24 existing skins, there’ll be five brand new ones!” Open up the Marketp…

One of the key issues we hear from extension developers is the time that Microsoft takes to review their extensions. We're implementing several measures to improve this process. This will allow developers to iterate faster, bringing more innovation to their users, and making the extensions more reliable, robust, and secure. To support this, we have implemented an expedited review process for high-quality and high-value extensions. Select extensions will enjoy a priority queue with faster review times. These extensions are automatically chosen based on a broad set of parameters, including: User value, as indicated by user adoption of the extension, user feedback, and o…
