Touchpad issues
by Guest Gnat0100- 0 replies

My touchpad won't turn off since the latest update. The previous one turned it back on after I had turned it off very deliberately, and made it so it was always on when I booted up the computer. I believe I uninstalled the driver, but it reinstalled it and took away the ability to remove it. I was using Fn+F3 to turn it off since then, but the newest update made it so not even that works. I am most frustrated by this, and it seems to me that removing functions from a computer is something that is the antithesis of an upgrade. My computer is an MSI. Continue reading...

Microsoft account sign in problem Win 10 Surface Pro 4
by Guest AdrianWalter774- 0 replies
After the latest big Win 10 update I've been unable to sign into my Microsoft account. It says I am using a local account and need to sign in to my main account but when I do I get as far as the "we're going to ask for your password one last time" screen (having successfully logged in and passed the 2-step verification phases) and then it tells me my password is incorrect. I have changed the password via the "forgot my password" link but I still get the same issue. I can sign into my Microsoft Onedrive account using the (old and now) new password but I just can't sign in to my main Microsoft account, and therefore can't sync anything, watch movies, buy stuff etc. Any…

Windows 10 Black Screen/Stuck Update/Unable to reset
by Guest MarcinMalec1- 0 replies

Hello, I have a desktop Asus PC that I'm unable to use as of June 8th, 2018. My problems began with the Fall Curators update where my computer would freeze up during instal. I was able to fix this issue by unplugging everything from my computer and allow the update to run. On Thursday June 7th I was prompted to instal an update so I allowed it and left my computer alone for 2-3 hours. When I returned the update froze so I decided to shut down the computer since before all it would do is attempt to instal again and if it failed I would just shut it off and it would then roll back. This time though when I turned my computer on the screen turned black after the initial…

Freeing up space to prevent drive failure?
by Guest AD80TZ- 0 replies
Hi, Every time I switch on my MSI laptop it notifies me that I only have 15% storage remaining which may lead to premature drive failure!? If you look at me screen shot below - I have two drives, (C:) which is almost full and (D:) drive which is empty. Why doesn't my system automatically send files to the D: drive to free up space in the C: drive? I'm certainly no computer wiz kid - but how can I move files over without effecting or damaging anything. Thank you! AD. Continue reading...

webcam on msi laptop is not detected as a hardware
by Guest Maulik8960- 0 replies

I have msi laptop and the windows does not recognize the webcam as a hardware. I did activate the webcam from SCM which disables it by default. But it still doesn't show up. Nor is it listed in the device manager. There is no imaging devices or camera section in device manager. It doesn't show up even after enabling hidden devices. I updated to latest windows and updated all the drivers. Still, no success. MSI uses bisoncam pro. I can't even find the drivers manually. The official website has no webcam drivers as it is all included in the SCM. By god this has been so frustrating. Continue reading...

After the last cumulative update for Windows 10 Version 1803, OneDrive is not running well, in that every time I start-up the computer OneDrive is not there so that I have to reinstall it. It's not that OneDrive were uninstalled, but the icon in the task bar is gone. Clicking OneDrive in start menu only brings up the online folders. And OneDrive doesn't sync. The only way to get it back is run OneDriveSetup.exe. Is there a solution for this? Thanks and regards, Danker Continue reading...

Recently my laptop stopped working after installing an update. It installed the update and then when I tried to log in it would get stuck on that screen sometimes changing the "Welcome" text to "Preparing Windows" before going to a bluescreen with an "Driver Power Status Failure" I have tried everything from running the repair tools to trying to reset the system. I finally did a full reset and it started creating an account that is just called default0 and now I can't get back into recovery. Continue reading...

by Guest Carter Marshall- 0 replies

I keep getting Blue Screens on the computer I just built with the error codes IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED. I have run Windows Memory Diagnostic and Memtest86, the results of which are here. I have fully updated all of my drivers. I have ran the verifier command following the advice of this thread, but each time I run verifier it's different drivers that are failing. I have uninstalled my non-Windows Antivirus. I have asked the same question in 2 different threads to no avail; Once in a different thread on answers.microsoft.com and another time on www.reddit.com/r/techsupport. My computer has no overheating issues and I am not overclocking any c…

Windows 10 crashing when searching in File Explorer search box
by Guest RayPrimack- 0 replies
After the update in April 2018, when I have File Explorer open and search for a file, I get BSOD and windows crashes!!! I am sick to death of this. I have tried ALL of the remedies that I have found online. Major update today.......and will see if this still happens. NO, it was NOT a new program I installed. It started IMMEDIATELY after the April update. Maybe after using MS DOS back in 1980 on a 160Kb 5.25" floppy .... and 38 years later MAYBE its time to change OS and kiss this goodbye??? Worked just fine on Windows 7 until I was forced into Windows 10 even after I said NO......it still installed Windows 10 over Windows 7. Life is not long enough…

Hi, I'm hoping anyone can help me with the black screen on my laptop. I can try to figure out how to fix things on my computer but a black screen doesn't let me do that. I did some research on my phone and found out that the black screen happened on Window 10 back in 2017. Everytime I restart the laptop, it loads into Window and after a few seconds everything goes black. Sometimes a screen pops up and asks me for a full recovery, but I don't want that. It successfully worked for me one time after a few restarts, but it doesn't work this time. It occured since the recent Window 10 updates this May 2018. Please help, Eric P Continue reading...
