I use my Microsoft Account to sign into my PC and have in the past performed several clean installations and my Microsoft Edge favorites and saved password would in most cases sync back to my PC after signing in with and verifying my Microsoft Account! I deleted any Windows.old folders and have no local backup of my Microsoft Edge favorites and saved passwords! Is thee any way that I can have my favorites and saved passwords synced back to my PC from the cloud? I believe that my favorites did in fact sync with the cloud as I've said before! Any advice in this regard will be highly appreciated! Continue reading...

Trackpad Instructions Out of Date
by Guest MarianoPaniello- 0 replies

Hello, It used to be easy to disable my trackpad. With the latest update, however, there seems to be no way to do this; the only option that displays on the Touchpad Settings in Windows is Touch Sensitivity. Every online answer I've found on Microsoft.com or other sources is characteristically out of date and of no help whatsoever. Does Microsoft have a special team of people dedicated to the task of making things that were once easy a total headache? Continue reading...

Printer interface

We bought a new HP printer just a few weeks ago but now I can't print things from the PC with it. I started getting a message saying 'couldn't connect to that printer' or it just wouldn't print, depending on the program I was trying to print from. I tried checking for driver updates and also uninstalled and reinstalled the printer on the PC - now it doesn't show up as an option when I bring up a print window. I can still scan things with the same printer, so I don't think it's the actual connection that's the issue. I'm supposed to get a few pages printed out for some work tomorrow so it's getting frustrating! Continue reading...

Windows 10 Pro 64 bit fresh clean install (April 2018 update version, all other updates installed) 1 user (microsoft account), set as administrator when going into the microsoft store can only download apps that have previously been purchased. any new app when i click in "GET" the store page just reloads and nothing downloads. have tried this with numerous apps with the same result (all free apps). no error appears, the store page just reloads when clicking on "GET" apps are compatible with system, two green ticks so it's not a minimum spec issue. i've tried "wsreset.exe" via command prompt in administrator mode - made no difference. if i …

Mail in Windows 10 won't work
by Guest jcworks1- 0 replies

Just got a new Lenovo with Windows 10. The Mail that comes with it will not download email. I added my bellsouth.net email account and it took it successfully but......nothing. No idea what to do. I've since set up Thunderbird which works like it should -- unlike Microsoft's. Microsoft seems to go out of its way to make everything more complicated than any company I know. Instead of blessing consumers with ease of use they make things that only geeks can figure out. B.S. Continue reading...

A buddy of mine has a ASUS GL553VD Laptop which he is having a plethora of problems with. We've been trying to troubleshoot this for some weeks now and recently gave up and did a clean install of windows 10, however, the problems didn't go away. So now I'm here, looking for specific help rather than following all kinds of generic fixes. I asked him to write down every blue screen error he got, so far, after the clean install, we've got: Page fault in non paged area Video scheduler internal error So far the only things we've done on the PC post clean install is update some drivers we thought might be causing the problems and updated his bios to the late…

Fullscreen youtube videos problem after Windows 10 April 2018 (1803) upgrade. Blank screen when video controls or annotations are rendered.
by Guest dominikd100- 0 replies

Hello, After recent Windows 10 April 2018 upgrade, I started experiencing issues with fullscreen youtube video playback. The playback runs fine until I either move the mouse (which causes the video controls to render) or until either a video annotation or subtitles are rendered, in which case the whole screen goes blank (nothing is displayed, although the screen is still on because I can see the backlight) and the sound stutters. It really looks like a graceful crash of a graphics driver, which either results in a recovery after a second or doesn't recover, in which case I need to disable my screen via a keyboard hotkey and then re-enable it via moving my mouse. Ste…

1803 update killed my Surface Book
by Guest DmitryOussevitch- 0 replies
After an attempt to install the 1803 update my Surface Book (ver 1703) cannot see internal SSD (almost bricked). Well, I can boot from USB stick using Windows 10 Installation media. But it cannot install as there is no drive. When I boot to System Image Recovery I get STATUS_WAIT_2 (0x80070002) error. I guess that means no drive to recover. When I run DISKPART (using command prompt) it does not list any drive. I guess it can be firmware or UEFI problem. Is there any diagnostic/repair tool (command line?) that could detect and fix that ??? Continue reading...

I updated my windows 10 today (i dont know what the update was) and suddenly, there is a random local disc (E:) in my (place where the harddrives show up) It even says its full even tho it has nothing in it. I dont know what it is but i guess it might be a backup for the version of windows i updated from. It doesnt really matter but im really irritated by the fact that windows is now constantly sending me messages saying "Your drive is almost full! Click here to check if you can free any space!" Screenshot: View: https://imgur.com/a/onN4yDy (also it does not show up in most disc cleaning stuff) Continue reading...

Hi, did a major Windows 10 update last night (early morning of 13th April) , several restarts etc, then got a "are you sure you want to turn off the computer" which I said yes and went to bed. Now, I switch on the computer; get to the login screen as normal, enter my password, says "welcome...", but then Windows doesn't load properly. I get a white screen with Windows Smart Screen options in a non-styled box. I have two tiny buttons which give access to Narration services and Microphone volume. CtrlAltDel gives the normal options, but task manager doesn't start ... I suppose you're going to tell me to install the "Windows 10 installation media"? But I dont ha…
