Not yesterday was I playing with my PCDJ Red Mobile 2 software on my Windows 8 laptop. Now it won't even load. I have tried to change setting, etc. But wound up putting it back to what was recommended. I recall there were a couple of updates Windows made and I had to restart it. I don't know if those updates affected the software. Can you help? View this thread

My system had 5 hard rives in it. I purchased a couple of new hard drives to increase storage capacity and performance. During the process of installing them and moving files around and for no apparent reason, one of the WD 1TB hard drives changed its configuration from normal to EISA. Of course, I could no longer access this drive using explorer and was forced to kill the partition and reformat the hard drive. How does this happen and how can the configuration be changed back so that one doesn't have to loose all the files on the hard drive. If windows can arbitrarily configure it for EISA there should be a way to change it back.Dalton Seymour View this thread

I purchased a new Gateway desktop with Widows 8 but I didn't realize that it was designed for a touchscreen and I don't have one. I hate it and want to go back to Win 7. What is the best way to do that? Microsoft said call Gateway, Gateway said to call where I bought it and TigerDirect said to call Microsoft. How's that for passing the buck? I have Corel Quattro Pro for Windows (X3). I also have windows 7 (64bit). Previously I could open Quattro with this computer. When it tries to search for updates, the search process goes on and on, and you can't cancel or close the window ie, it's effectively frozen. Even task Manager can't end the process! When I tried to restart, then the restart process got stuck, had to do a Force Quit! Tried to change the style of receiving update from Automatic to Choose, and that process froze too!!! A real pain, I may bail on this laptop and go back to a Win 7. Any ideas? View this thread

A user tried opening Turbotax 2012 after the update and several reboot/retry it crashes. Also the quicklaunch bar was altered to show a description only instead of the 'min desktop' of the application. I don't know what the number of the update was. It failed to install 3 times. My PC had to take time to configure-fail then revert each time. Most annoying. I thought doing a system to restore back to before I tried to install it the first time. That didn't do anything. I then opened the troubleshooter. Boy was than a major mistake. It fixed something but it wiped out every restore point as well as every update. It took it back to square none and said I had never done an update on it. I have contacted the expat shield people and they confirm that it will not work with windows 8 and that they are not at the moment or in the future intending to have a version which works with windows 8. Had I have known this before I upgraded, I would never have upgraded to windows 8. perhaps microsoft will do something to make it to be compatible with windows 8 as it was in windows 7. Extremly dissapointed and feel somewhat let down. I am finding more and more software I buy is not compatable with windows 8 and it is as if the software producers are severley lagging behind or think that not many people will use windows 8!!! While I was away from our house 12-27 Feb visitors used our laptop. On our return the battery was completely flat and the machine off. We recharged the battery and started Windows OK. Hello there, I'm having an issue in which a recent windows update install has affected both my wireless and LAN network cards. My laptop was set to automatically install updates and after turning it on the next day after it updated I could only connect to my home Wireless network with limited access. Other devices can connect to the network no problem so I know it's not the network. When running network diagnostics it tells me that the network adapter may be experiencing problems.
