The windows 7 update KB2670838 caused microsoft word 2007 to crash. I uninstalled the update again, but I still face the problem. I'm not sure if it got properly uninstalled. The update is still listed in the 'view update history' as status 'successful'. However, its not listed anymore if I go to 'uninstall updates'. I also tried if installing the update manually makes a difference, but no success. Because I realized the problem not right away I can also not to a system recovery anymore. I am getting access denied when trying to install NIVIDIA Drivers. I have searched the net for a solution and while it looks like lots of problems the solutions didn't seem apparent. I am running Vista Ultimate 64 at the most current level, I got this problem after a Windows update failed to install the most current driver for my EVGA e-GeForce 9800 x2. After trying to figure this problem I tried another Nividia card but even though a different version it still has the same problem! Every time I turn on my laptop, I get a message that there was a problem with this file and to uninstall and reinstall the program. Well the banner on the top of this error message is saying to reinstall verizon's in home agent program. What does this file do? It is located in c:program filescommon filesmotivemccieventx.dll. After Platform Update for Windows 7 x64-Edition (KB2670838) forced installed itself on my computer (my settings have always been "let me choose which to download"(my computer shut down and started back up loading window updates) and my setting was now on "let windows download updates"( i had to switch it back again) but after the download all programs became slow or unresponsive. In the lower right hand task bar there is an icon that shows I am logged into the internet. Two small computer monitors and a circular blue light. The other day I was offered 1 update.
