Yesterday windows update installed KB2840149 on our DNS server. After the update (before the reboot), DNS was no longer working on this server(unable to browse to any site in IE from this server). Ping to any site could never resolve a name. The problem remained after the reboot. The server is no longer available via RDP. Still issues? View this thread

I received the notice to install KB2840149 on my system. After doing so it repeatedly caused my system to crash when booting up into Windows 7. It wasn't until I uninstalled the update did everything work fine. Is there anyone can assist me with this or help me report the problem to the proper people?Thanks. View this thread

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium on an x64-based PC, and I've been having issues with Windows Update (specifically, Error 80080005). In an attempt to solve this problem, I tried running sfc /scannow in cmd, but found that the service would not start. Recently received Windows 8 update notice for a number of updates (12+) for my Surface Pro. Allowed updates to download. After waiting almost two hours with the screen indicating &quotdon't turn off computer while updates are occurring&quot, I finally shut down the computer and re-started.
