Windows xP SP 2 trying to update to SP3. New terabyte hard drive from Western digital. Celeron 2.66 ghz with 1.85 gigs of RAM Tried downloading the entire SP3 from the Microsoft website but on install it could not get past a scrobj.dll which at the time was named scrobj.dl_. I tried renaming it but it still got stuck at that step. View this thread

Windows update keeps failing to load KB2727587 and gives an error code 0x8024200d. I have used the update readiness tool and the automatic troubleshooter, neither of which worked. I have run a clean boot which also did not fix it. I am not aware of any recent changes to the software or any new installations. I am using windows 7 home premium 32bit. My system has downloaded Service pack 1 (KB976932) and a windows update (KB2505438) on 2 seperate days. On both days when the system tried to install them I received a C0000022 error message and my computer froze. When I tried to restart the computer it immediately froze again. OK, this isn't a question per se, since I've already solved it myself, but I thought I would share what I've learned. Within the last week or so, quite a few people had been having problems with flash content when online and a couple had noted that this update was installed right before their problems began.
