No matter how many different ways I have tried to download the updates for Vista they don't download. It says 0% complete no matter how long I let it run. I have MSE and based on some other forum comments tried turning off live protection and then updating and that accomplished nothing. I also have Malwarebytes. I have been trying to install Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 9 for Windows 7 (KB2809289) and it continues to stall at 99% installation. Then I cannot cancel or anything. Windows x64 bit Home Premium PC. All other windows updates are working fine but system gets stuck when trying to install KB2814124. I have to turn off Windows Update or sits there for ever. Hi all, I have been using windows 7 from many years there were no problem at all, but when i upgraded the system to windows 8 pro all the problems started. Hi, I last ran the windows update successfully 2-3 days ago, but when I tried again this morning I got the message that windows could not search for new updates (Code 8024402f when running windows update). I googled the problem and initially thought the solution would be easy when I found I wasn't the only one to experience this issue). During a recent Windows Update (and previously), I received a "Failed" status (1 of 7 Updates dates 14/3/13, see above for my ONLY failed opdates), I tried all the options &amp Fix-it, but although Fix-it says it had sorted Update, ALL reruns of Windows update merely said "Your System is OK &amp up to date". Why can't this software remove "FAILED" updates and reload them. So far I have wasted several hours and cannot find a solution to what, to me, should be a simple solution from Microsoft? I’m tying to update my PC from Windows XP SP2 to Windows XP SP3 using windows automated updates.
