I try to avoid that some older applications stop working suddenl…

This new laptop is an addition and my other computers are Windows 7. I need commonality. Windows 8 is NOT designed for simple home use for seniors. For example, I have given up trying to install Skype. I am not computer illiterate but this is ridiculous! View this thread

I keep getting this error every time I try to install Windows updates. I have tried the following solutions already: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_update/unable-to-install-windows-update-error-80071a91/4f331ffa-230f-4848-973a-d92ec695a507 I get an error saying that both those files can't be found. I have also tried this solution: http://emrystech.blogspot.com/2011/01/resolving-windows-update-error-code.html Everything deleted except for the ".TM" files which were also not found. Anyone know how to fix this? View this thread

I am trying to run an update to Microsoft Security Essentials software from Version 4.1.522.0 to 4.2.223.1. The update is KB2804527. When the update fails I get error code 0x8007005. The computer is virus free. The definitions are updated OK, just not the MSE software. Also have tried to uninstall the software but that fails also. Have also encountered error codes 0x8024200B and 0x8004FF80 while attempting the update at different times. Am running Windows 7 Home Premium, SP 1on a 64 operating system . View this thread

Why, after enduring six "important" software updates tonight, and the lengthy process of downloading, configuring, installing and restarting, does another "important" update show up not five damn minutes later? With another download, configure, restart and install!! Is there anything preventing Microsoft from aggregating all the downloads at once? I am trying to do work here, and I am spending all evening managing Microsoft "important" updates. Please my time is valuable, please stop taking advantage... View this thread
