At one point I must have cancelled installing Internet Explorer 7.0 on my computer. When I review my update history, it shows as cancelled. I want to install it now. How can I do that? There are no options to "uncancel". Thanks.

Problem Uninstalling Early Net versions & hotfixes
by Guest Silverfox1- 0 replies

My PC is a P4 2.4ghz IntelMB, 1gig ram, and was purchased in 2002. With ALL the problems associated with installing these latest security updates for the .net framework versions I simply uninstalled the Net 2.0 with no problem, re-installed it and was then able to update the latest security update for the 2.0 version. However I could NOT uninstall the hotfixes for the ver 1.1, etc. in reverse order from the add\remove list. After I re-installed the 2.0 I left it in and installed the Windows Installer Clean up utility and ran it and the ONLY net framework app depicted was the net 2.0 ! The 1.1 & 1.0 or there hotfixes are NOT even listed in the utility …

KB935807 - Error 80070002 (Generic soluton doesn't help)
by Guest Koshy John- 4 replies
I've been trying to install the KB935807 update using Windows Update on Windows Vista Ultimate. Once the update is installed, I am asked to restart the computer - which I do. It tries to install the update immediately after the Vista logo flashes off and then after sometime reboots itself without giving me a chance to log in. The next startup involves trying to install the updates again as the first time but I get to log in. Windows Update reports that the update failed and I try to troubleshoot it. Error 80070002 is displayed. This happens over and over and I'm unable to sleep my computer now. The power button is constantly in the install updates and …

Unistall WSUS 3.0
by Guest Sérgio Lopes- 3 replies

Hi I have installed WSUS 3.0 in my company server 2003 SBS. It happens that I want to remove it completely. As you know, to configure properly this software to detect client computers, is necessary to manualy configure Group Policy. That makes unavaliable the Windows Update Options (it gets grey). It happens that after a sucessfull unistall of WSUS 3.0, the Group Policy did not "reset" the update settings on client computers. So I manualy put the option "Not configured" in the group Policy settings. See link with setps to configure (http://technet2.microsoft.com/windowsserver/en/library/43bcd87f-9483-4d84-bad5-bdff68761d0d1033.mspx?mfr=true), b…

completely updated?
by Guest MeMe- 2 replies

I'm using Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 with Service Pack 2. When I check to see if I need any updates, it says everything is updated - High Priority, Software and Hardware. However, when I click on Review your update history, it shows there are updates that failed in previous updates. If my Update says my system is up-to-date, then does that mean that later updates fixed the problem when earlier updates were not installed? Or do I have to go back and re-install all of the failed updates?
