Failed Update KB928365 - Microsoft fix doesn't work so far
by Guest carol- 2 replies

I complained yesterday - on two computer (this same problem) and the fix they sent doesn't work. It involved an Installer cleanup I had to download and remove all .net framework items. Then download and install three items. I uninstalled old framework items and then tried the three items they told me to download and install. I couldn't get past the first one - never mind the second two. Has anyone found a fix for this or had luck with microsofts fixes.?

Login and Windows Update

Hi, This is probably a stupid question. Do you need to be logged into your workstation to receive critical updates to XP if your GPO has set the update time and date? Or do the machines just need to be powered on to receive these. We use a 3rd party gina (Novell). Cheers, Neil.

Windows keep updating
by Guest AdrianYY- 3 replies

For some reason, windows vista keeps prompting me to install updates even after I've installed them. It will always pop up a icon on taskbar saying to install july 10 update. After installing I would restart my computer to complete the update. It configures before shutting down and on start, it configures again and does one more shut down before the next restart will be successful. And it will prompt me to download the same update again. Anyone can help me solve this irritating problem?

After the latest updates I have this on two computers so far. Have not checked the others yet. Has anyone got any ideas what is going on. The rest of the dialog box states I can stop the service and try again, which of course works, but why is this service running after the update reboot anyway? Thanks. -- --------------------------------- --- -- - Posted with NewsLeecher v3.9 Beta 5 Web @ http://www.newsleecher.com/?usenet ------------------- ----- ---- -- -

by Guest Mars_is_stuck- 1 reply

Fact is, this month it's not even getting to first base. Windows XP Pro SP2 box. When I ran WU in IE7, got notification that the update software needed to be updated itself. Clicked on the Update Windows button...don't recall for sure if one of the pale yellow bar warnings came up if it did I likely ok'd the warning...files downloaded, then supposedly installed. But then the IE7 session stalls, and I then get the following: [Error number: 0x80070005] The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view. The options provided below might help you solve the problem. For self-help options: - Frequently Asked Question…

This patch is being offered to Windows 2000 Professional SP4 through Windows Update even though the O/S is listed under Non-Affected Software. However the two affected files, ntdsa.dll and sp3res.dll, are present in the system directories. Should the KB document be ignored and the patch applied?

After applying the 11 July 2007 Windows update package (Windows XP) outlook.exe appeared to have been moved to a different place (?) and Outlook2003 cannot start Word2003 as e-mail editor. Reseting Outlook options and Office repair does not help nor does Checking/repairing registry errors and defragmenting registry (by Registry First Aid). Un-applying Windows update no option. -- Hesseldahl

I am having the same problem as everyone else. I also have Vista Basics. Tried everything possible but nothing works. Can't even get into the windows updates through Internet Explorer. Just tells you to go to updates on your computer. And of course you don't get anywhere. If someone out there has found the solution please let me know.
