When I started the download of the latest Direct X from Microsoft.com the download started correctly and the software indicated it was searching for the components to download. Then I get an error messeage saying the components can not be downloaded right now and try again later. Only when I try again and again I still get the error to try again later. I think this download page is not working correctly. The error message also says check your internet connection but that is working just fine and each time I try to download the latest Direct X it always starts to download just fine but then it says it is searching for components to download but it can't fin…

Error 0x80240019 from Windows Update
by Guest Van A. Martin- 0 replies
I am suddenly seeing error 0x80240019 during the analysis portion of Windows Update on a Server 2003 system. This code translates to "Attempt was made to install an exclusive update with other updates at the same time". However, nothing has even downloaded. I see several posts related to the same error code and Windows Defender, but Defender is not installed on this system. Any idea how to proceed other than wait and hope the error goes away. -- Van A. Is there a way I can do that rather then running Automatic updates as it just installs on single Server? Thanks in Advance A

Error 0x80072F78

Hello, I was having the above mentioned error message for the longest time, tried all fixes suggested by members of this newsgroup and, in the end, found out that the problem had to do with my ethernet D-Link 260 modem (is no longer supported by the company so I can't get any help from them). I isolated the problem after connecting a spare USB modem to my DSL line - the D-Link 180U. So, definitely the ethernet modem is timing out during Windows Update due to the way it is configured. The problem is that I need the D-Link 260 modem because I have VoIP and it is ethernet based. Could someone help me fix/configure the D-Link 260 modem so I can get my …
