My Windows 10 PC has crashed, and I'm trying to repair it using Hiren's Boot CD. However, I’m not sure how to create a bootable USB with Hiren's Boot CD to rescue my system. I’ve heard it's a useful tool for troubleshooting and repairing Windows, but I'm not familiar with the process. Could someone please guide me step-by-step on how to create a bootable USB from Hiren's Boot CD ISO so I can repair and rescue my Windows 10 PC. I have a blank USB drive ready, and I’ve downloaded the Hiren’s Boot CD ISO file, but I’m not sure what to do next. View the full article

Hi! Most probably this might not be possible in MS Project / Project Online, but it doesn’t hurt to check with the Project Community. We have a task assigned to two resources, and the Project Manager's idea is that either of these two resources can complete the whole task to 100%, not only their 50% of it. We have tried various combinations of Fixed Duration / Work / Units with and without Effort Driven but haven’t found any combination that works so one of the two resources can complete the task to 100%. It always ends up being half. For example, the resource goes to My Tasks and submits 80%, but in the project, it shows 40%. We have also looked into using the Team Resou…

In the rapidly evolving field of large language models (LLMs) and small language models (SLMs), fine-tuning and evaluation often present unique challenges. Whether the objective is to optimize models for function-calling use cases or to validate multi-agent workflows, one thing remains constant: the need for high-quality, diverse, and contextually relevant data. But what happens when real-world data is either unavailable, incomplete, or too sensitive to use? Enter synthetic data—a powerful tool for accelerating the journey from experimentation to deployment. In this blog, we’ll explore how synthetic data can address critical challenges, why it’s indispensable for certain…

If configured, you can allow a node user with network connectivity to connect externally to a compute node in a Batch pool. For example, a user can connect by Remote Desktop (RDP) on port 3389 to a compute node in a Windows pool. Similarly, by default, a user can connect by Secure Shell (SSH) to port 22 to a compute node in a Linux pool. As of API version 2024-07-01 (and all pools created after 30 November 2025 regardless of API version), Batch no longer automatically maps common remote access ports for SSH and RDP. If you wish to allow remote access to your Batch compute nodes with pools created with API version 2024-07-01 or later (and after 30 November 2025), then you…

I recently switched to using a Windows 10 PC and am still getting familiar with how everything works. I have a lot of videos on my iPhone that I'd like to transfer to my PC for backup and easier access. Since I'm not very experienced with tech, I’m looking for a simple and reliable way to transfer videos from iPhone to PC without losing any quality or running into complications. Could someone please guide me through the process step-by-step? Should I use iTunes, the Photos app, or another method? Are there any settings on my iPhone or PC I need to adjust beforehand? How can I ensure all videos are transferred without missing any? Thank you so much for your patience and he…

I have an older Windows 10 PC that's starting to feel sluggish, and I've heard Linux Mint is a great lightweight alternative. I’'m not very tech-savvy, so I'm looking for some guidance on how to create linux mint bootable usb from Windows 10 PC. Here are a few questions I have: What’s the best way to back up my files before installing Linux Mint?Is there anything specific I should know about compatibility with older hardware? Are there any beginner-friendly tutorials or step-by-step guides you'd recommend?Should I dual-boot with Windows 10 or fully replace it?Any tips, warnings, or resources would be greatly appreciated! I'm trying to get "LogonSuccess", "LogoffSuccess", "ScreenLock", "ScreenUnlock" from the DeviceLogonEvent table but I am only seeing LogonSuccess. I'm wondering if I need to configure something in my tenant for those events to show up in the DeviceLogonEvents table. I have both event ID's 8400 and 8401 showing in the local security event log. My users with Microsoft 365 Copilot licenses have noticed a newer feature that automatically rebooks meetings with an alternate room if the selected room is unavailable. It appears that this setting is on by default and can be turned off on a per case basis when a new meeting event is being scheduled. Is there a way to turn it off by default and allow people to enable it when a new calendar item is being created instead? Here is what it looks like for me in Outlook. I can click on Edit from the new meeting window and turn it off for a single event. I haven't found a way to change that default behavior. Has anyone found a way to adjust this? Thank you! Hello Experts, I am having a tough time adding a condition to a filter on a form. It works with 1 condition but not sure about the OR part (sq, dq) Maybe it is correct. The error I get is "Type Mismatch" see pic below. The row highlighted is the Remarks line. It seems odd because the fields are "short text" in the underlying table. Do you see an issue with the OR statement? If not, any ideas why I would be getting that error knowing that the fields are text? Private Sub txtEndUser_AfterUpdate() 'http://allenbrowne.com/ser-28.html If IsNull(Me.txtEndUser) Then Me.FilterOn = False Else Me.Filter = "[Remarks 1] Like '*" & […

Hello Teams Community, I'm facing a strange issue with App notifications in Microsoft Teams. I've already researched this and found nothing. I've opened a Microsoft case and I'm waiting for an answer but it's taking longer than expected. So, I'm turning to you for expedited help! Scenario:You're an administrator in Teams. You've applied a setup policy for a pinned app like Viva Engage. After the policy is applied and the tool is launched, users complain that notifications are either too frequent or not frequent enough. You direct them to the Teams Notification and activity settings to control app notifications. The users go to Teams notification settings but report back t…

Early in 2024, the MORSE team investigated the new Administrator protection (AP) feature in Windows. Believing context is important to understand the decisions that shape the Windows security model, MORSE committed to sharing our thoughts on this new and compelling feature. From its earliest days, Windows was designed around the concept that a computer and its user were indistinguishable entities, freely sharing all resources within the system and its configuration. On single-user systems such as this, the user was free to manipulate the system in any way they saw fit. In other words, the machine, its primary user, and its administrator were one and the same – a paradigm…
