Is there a report that can be run on Sharepoint to show file string size sorted highest to lowest? The issue we are running into is the difference between Sharepoint character limit and Windows Character limit. Out of the box they are different and Sharepoint's string limit is considerably higher. If there was a report, we could get a head of syncing issues. View the full article

Hi, we've been using AppV 5.1 for years now, and I can safely state we are pretty well informed about it. It's going to be EOL relatively soon, but as MSIX is severely lacking for us, mainly because we can't package Office addins with it, we'll be forced to keep using AppV in the foreseeing future. I have several environments, all with Office installed locally. I'll concentrate on two test-environments, of which I can always revert to a clean state. Both of them are Server 2022, RDS role, AppV enabled. Identical installations, except one has Office 2021 LTSC, one has Office 2024 LTSC. Both arView the full article

The app name in the error is "Microsoft Exchange REST API Based Powershell". My question is as I've dag a little bit in the Internet - is it even possible to log in to Exchange PowerShell using FIDO key? Second is question is, is there a way to set up this …

In setting up file sharing between two of my PCs, which was not without drama, believe me, the OS told me that I have to have Bluetooth enabled for this to work. I am sharing over the LAN, why do I need Bluetooth enabled? I have Bluetooth and WIFI on my motherboard and both are turned off because I don't want the extra radiation. Since the PC sits on my desk, I especially don't want it in my eyes due to the risk of cataracts. I just don't get why Bluetooth has to be enabled in this case. It's still turned off in BIOS, so what good does it do? View the full article

I ask those who use this Microsoft utility, if there is a way to not delete a previously saved file, if currently in use. In practice I have been using this utility for many years, but among all its parameters, I have never found the one that suits me. In practice, if I opened the Outlook program, the pst file is blocked, too bad that using /MIR the previously saved file is deleted and replaced with .tmp that are unusable. Does anyone have the solution? View the full article

Introduction Embeddings are used to generate a representation of unstructured data in a dense vector space. An embedding is a vector of floating-point numbers, such that the distance between two embeddings in the vector space is correlates to semantic similarity between two inputs in the original format (eg., text / image). When text is embedded, the meaning of each word is encoded so that words closer together in the vector space are expected to have similar meanings. A large number of embedding models that support such text representations are available and benchmarks like MTEB help understand their performance. One of the pitfalls / risks in embedding models is that s…

Hello.I am having trouble accessing a cloud drive shared with me by my employer. The problem occurs only when using the internet provided by my ISP (in this case, NETIA, Poland). When I connect using my phone (T-Mobile network) or using VPN, everything works correctly.I have spoken with my ISP, and the issue is not local to my equipment (computer, operating system, router). I was informed that Microsoft is blocking the pool of IP addresses from which traffic to the cloud drive is coming. They suggest contacting with Microsoft and creating a support ticket. Please see the details below. Due to askView the full article

Good morning, I have a question regarding RODCs and DMZs. I have a domain where I have several sites including a âDMZâ site. Within it there are multiple Client and Server machines and 2 RODCs. Through the firewall I have allowed traffic from the 2 RODCs to the DCs in production, inhibiting any other communication to the outside of the DMZ. The only possible connections are via RDP to Clients and Servers in the DMZ. Now what I expect from the RODCs is that they have cached passwords of the users that are added to the âAllowed RODC Password Replication Groupâ while those that are not added to View the full article

I created a Microsoft Teams-connected SharePoint site primarily for its vertical navigation menu. By default, the site includes three SharePoint groups. I added an external user to the Visitors group, which has Read permissions. The user is able to access the main landing page but encounters a permission issue when trying to view other site pages. When I share a specific .aspx page with the user, they can access it; however, they are granted Edit permissions instead of Read access. I tested the same permission settings on a standard SharePoint site, and everything worked as expected. How can I resolve this issue? View the full article

I've created a PS script that removes Use Client integration from each permission level (role definition). This works, but as a side effect it gives the custom role definitions a new id. This can cause issues further down the line. Here is the part of the script which replaces the existing permission levels (role defs): #Install App to the Site Install-PnPApp -Identity $App.Id # Get all existing role definitions $roleDefinitions = Get-PnPRoleDefinition foreach ($role in $roleDefinitions) { # Create a new custom role definition by copying the existing one $newRoleName = "Custom_" + $role.Name # Clone the existing permission levels excluding Client Int.: Add-PnPRole…

DescriptionI am using the Worksheet.OnChanged event in office.js to capture valueBefore and valueAfter for cell changes. When I change a single cell, the event provides the details object with changeType: "RangeEdited" along with valueBefore and valueAfter. However, when I edit multiple cells at once (e.g., deleting/copy-pasting values into a range), the details object is undefined. This makes it impossible to track value changes for multiple-cell edits. Below is a screenshot showing both scenarios. Expected behaviorThe details object should provide valueBefore and valueAfter for all modified cells, similar to how it works for a single cell. Current behaviorFor multiple-c…

Entra ID retains audit log records for service principal signins for 30 days. The audit data can reveal some interesting insights such as the presence of unexpected service principals or access to an application from an external source, or even the use of an app secret by an application instead of a more secure method. Itâs time to write some PowerShell to interpret the data. https://office365itpros.com/2025/02/05/service-principal-signins/ View the full article

Hello All, We had configured a Device Control policy restricting removable device installations under Device Installation Restrictions > Prevent installation of removable devices (Enabled). This blocked new PnP device installations, including USB keyboards and mice. We have since reverted the setting to Not Configured and removed all assignments. However, one device is still unable to install new USB keyboards/mice. A hunting script check in MDE shows no blocking alerts. Could someone guide us on how to verify if any residual Device Control settings are still affecting the device? Is there a registry key where we can review and remove this setting locally? Appreciate y…

You must disable all other remote login services and make the SSH server only accept public key authentication. Our software for Linux can make SSH remote login more secure. Using our method, the SSH private key's passphrase is encrypted and saved on the machine. The user can then only use our privilege delegation software CaclMgr to remote log in to his/her own account on the remote machine; no SSH private key passphrase needs to be known by the user.
