Too bad this one doesn't support resume from last interrupted download.
So it's basically useless in my 56k line. My line is dropping every 5
minutes. :(

Have you asked the phone company to check the line? There could be
something wrong with the line as far as using a computer on the line and
data transmission.

I dunno whether Hong Kong's phone companies require a special line in
order to use a computer over it (requiring additional charges of
course). I would give her a call later....

Conspiracy theory: the phone companies are using special tool
to interrupt any digital connection over normal voice line. :)

That would be the outside line into your residence from the phone
company. You know even with a phone plugged into the phone jack there
can be trouble on the line. You have a long running download, the line
has trouble on it with the connection from your phone company to your
residence, and the connection drops just long enough to kill the
download. The phone company can test the line if you ask them. It may be
an out of pocket cost for you to have the test done.

You don't think that it's a possibility that there can be trouble on the
line? It happens all of the time.

So WUD would not work reliably with BITS enabled?

Just the opposite, it's the BITS service that allows resumption of an
interrupted download.

I didn't disable BITS. But i find WUD not working very well when I
clicked <Cancel>. It basically didn't respond. There is no
'automatic resume' as well...
