Open Office version 3.0.0

I downloaded Open Office 3 before and it didn't install with
Windows ME. Their final version is out, but it's 127.98MB, so I'm
wondering if anybody with Windows ME has been able to install and
run it.

I just now downloaded Open Office 3 and it didn't install again.
So that was a waste of time.

Gary,

No surprises there then since the system requirements for Open Office 3
are a system running:
Windows 2000 (Service Pack 2 or higher), Windows XP, Windows 2003 or
Windows Vista
See http://www.openoffice.org/dev_docs/source/sys_reqs_30.html

It looks as if you will just have to stick with Open Office 2.

Thanks for the link showing the Windows requirements. I didn't
know that. I downloaded from www.filehippo.com when I read
"Requirements: Windows (All Versions)". I am using Open Office
2.4.1 and it works good.

Gary,

Sorry not to have been able to post good news for you but at least you now
know that failing to install Office 3 wasn't due to problems with your
system but rather due to it not meeting the minimum system requirements,
something sadly only too common with many recent software releases which
are for XP or later.

I am pleased to read that you have no problems running OO 2.4.1.

Regards,
