unwanted automatic internet logon

D

Win XP, IE7
I get an unwanted automatic internet logon every time I start my PC.
Using TCPIP view, I have ascertained that it could be caused by something
called "System:4" The TCPIP view lists the process as follows:-
System:4 TCP SN048816020001:microsoft-ds SN048816020001:0 LISTENING
If I try to use process properties it won't allow.
What is it, do I need it, and how can I stop it from automatically
connecting to the internet?
