Reinstalled XP on a New hard drive

My hard drive crashed and I was unable to boot. Since my documents were not
backed up I purchased a new hard drive, and reinstalled XP with the hopes of
being able to access my files from the orignal hard drive. The installation
went fine and I am now able to access certain folders on my old hard drive.
However, I cannot access files under my user profile in My Documents. I get
the error message that access is denied. I have a feeling this is due to a
conflict in the user profiles from XP on the old drive and XP on the new
drive.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
