New hardware found

Hi,

At start up, a message says that new hardware is installed and that the
drivers are not found. I didn't install any new hardware so I don't know
what the system is seeing. System manager lists the new hardware as 'unknown'.

Where should start looking to get rid this annoying message?

TIA

Ana

Done so but it doesn't tell me which hardware is. It just says 'unknown'.

Hi,

Switch to 'view by connection' and see if knowing where it is attached
helps.

Have you recently done any driver updates from Windows Update?

Hi,

If you have CD from your motherboard, try this:
put it into CD-ROM and from unknown device -> right mouse -> Update
driver -> Browse my comp -> Select CD-ROM for location (with Include
subfolders checked) -> Next

I'll be it is detecting her game port, which Microsoft does not support in
Vista.

Hi,

Click start and type 'windowsupdate.log' and hit <enter> to open it in
notepad. Copy/paste the section from the most recent visit into a reply. The
most recent visit should be at the bottom of the log.
