backup question

what backup software do you use and why?
-Acronis Backup and Recovery
-Paragon System Backup

Backups are a waste of time. They are obsolete when needed for
restoration and take longer than a fresh install and sometimes just fail.
Save anything you can't replace on other media. You can reinstall an OS
or programs. I save to external drives and thumb drives (more than one
place. From time to time I burn a cd of my documents folder.

For the OS alone, maybe...

For OS plus a whole load of apps a backup/restore is much quicker.

Acronis is excellent - as is the backup/restore in Windows 7.
