Horrid Frustration With Windows 7 Deployment Using WDS

So I'm going crazy because I just can't seem to find the answer I'm
looking for anywhere.

When installing from a vanilla install.wim from the Windows 7 DVD to
WDS on Server 2008, it will automatically join the domain and name
your computer based on the login credentials used.

Now, if create a reference computer, use sysprep /generalize, capture
it, upload it to WDS and try to install it from WDS, it doesn't join
the domain, and it doesn't automatically name the computer.

How can I get it to act the same with a captured image as a retail
install.wim?

Elliott,
Open the WDS console select the server and right-click, properties.
Go to the Client tab. At the bottom there is a hyperlink to "more
information about unattended installation". This tells you what you need to
do.
Also, if you right click the image itself in the WDS console, and select
Properties, you will see a checkbox "Allow image to install in unattended
mode" and an option to select the xml file to use.
Hope that helps,
Anthony
