Error 0x80070003 - Nothing works

I have had this erorr for several months. NONE of the various suggestions by
both users and MVP's on this list work please don't post the same
suggestions again.

My PC is MacBook Pro, running Windows XP via Bootcamp 1.4. I need both Mac
and Windows for my work. Ultimately I suspect this may be a hardware issue,
as Bootcamp installs new drivers on update. Could this be the case?

Any suggestions other than the usual responses would be most welcome. I
haven't been able to update this machine since May - despite having a valid
licence.

Ehm, unsupported, anyhow.

You may wanna try downloading Windows Update Agent 3.0 manually,
save it to a folder and run the EXE with parameter "/wuforce"
(without the quotes) afterwards:
http://download.windowsupdate.com/v7/windowsupdate/redist/standalone/WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe

Start -> Run ->
"[Complete Path to EXE]\WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe" /wuforce [Hit Enter key]

Make also sure, that the Automatic Upate *service* and BITS are up
and running, both set to "Automatic".
