Seeking a good reference on managing Hyper-V server 2008 R2 from thecommand line?

Can anybody direct me to a good reference to managing 2008 Server from
the Core Install command prompt?

I just installed Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008 R2 on a test system.
It boots to two Command Prompt Windows, one with a limited character
based menu. I’m assuming this is a “core†install w/o the GUI. I’ve
never managed a Windows Server w/o the GUI.

Thanks,
John

Look at some books in your bookshop. There are also self paced training kits
available from MS Press.

As far as management of Core is concerned, some recommendations:
1. It is the best to have core servers in a domain. Managing core in a
workgroup can get complicated.
2. When the server is in a domain, you can manage it from GUI (mmc consoles)
on another server/workstation.
3. There are simple scripts available to ease your management of typical
tasks. They are menu driven (ie to change ip, press "a", to change computer
name, press, "b" etc.
4. Good tool for managing Hyper-V, especially if you have several servers is
System Center Virtual Machine Manager. It costs, but evaluation is
available for download.
