strange behavior - userinit.exe

J

John

Hi all,

When users log in to the windows 2003 standard terminal server, the screen
is blank nothing shows up on the screen after logging into terminal server.

When I check the task manager on the TS server, the userinit.exe is launched
after users login. userinit.exe uses 13% CPU. I thick userinit.exe causes
users profile not to load.

Please help and this drives me crazy.

users can not see anything after logging into terminal server.

Thank you.

What kind of profiles are you using, local or roaming?
Have you checked in the EventLog for errors or warnings about
profile load and unload problems?
Are you running UPHClean? Download here:

Thank you.

we use local profile
It seems that it only happens to the new profile. If users have the profile
already, then it will not happen.
I am using UPHclean already.
Could it be the default user profile the CAUSE?

Anything?
I am stuck here.

in addition, found out that ntuser.dat is 48 MB for each profile who recently
logged on.

The default profile sounds definitively as a possible cause for the
problem. I'd create a new one.
