Yeah, yeah, I have had trouble getting printers going in Winders as

well, particularly Vista and Win7, so your point is?

Don't know crap about computers, but installing a printer in Windows 7 is

one of the easiest things to do, Have not had any problems installing

anything with 7, have 4 computers in our household and all running 7 and no

problems

all tied into a wireless network and wireless printer. Set them up myself

with only manual for reference, no problem

and guess what I am 75.

With Windows you need the printer's CD, the manual and have to go

through the install. With Ubuntu, all you need to do is connect the

printer Ubuntu will ask you is you want to install the printer, click

yes and follow the easy instructions which is about a total of three or

four clicks. Scanners are installed automagically and are ready to use

instantaneously.

Best advice ever I had for my Pixma printer when it wouldn't run was to take

the paper out and hold the printer upside down.

Did so and a pistachio shell fell out. Worked ok after that!

There you go lying again. With Windows 7, all you need to do in hook up

your pirnter (most printers) and the driver installs instantly. You don't

know very much about Windows 7 so you lie constantly. Stick with that

crappy Ubuntu and continue to use the cryptic line commands to get most

things done. Then GIMP along with that INFERIOR Open Sores program that is

about 10 years behind the times.

No wonder Ubuntu is on so few machines. It's pure crap.

Most would go nuts using Ubuntu. Best advice is to stay far far away from

RUBBISH. Windows has NEVER had printer drivers as part of the OS. Maybe if

you are using a dot-matrix printer it might work but certainly modern colour

laser and all-in one deskjet type printers are NOT contained within Windows.

What on earth made you spout that drivel?

Installing my Lexmark C540N colour laser printer (networked) on Windows 7

needed a manually-downloaded driver from Lexmark. Ubuntu (10.04 beta) did it

for me automatically.

So which is more shitty, Windows 7 or Ubuntu? (And I bet I know what the

troll will say...

I wouldn't recommend that you use Windows drivers for a printer. I would

use the driver's provided by the printer manufacturer, either on the CD

or their web site.

Now comes more lies:

Simple, he's a liar and jealous regarding how easy it is to install a

printer with Linux.

Just did a bare metal installation of Win 7 x64 Ultimate. It installed my HP

1315xi.

It's an All-in-One and all features worked immediately.

How do you explain that?
