Hi All!
Does anybody have and use more than one email account with Windows Live Mail
in Windows Professional 7/64? First after I installed it I thought that it
looks like Outlook. Then I found that it more looks like Outlook Express,
even the settings are pretty close. Although the format of the directories
is absolutely different. I liked what I had with Outlook Express. All my
messages were automatically moving to the separate directories according to
the rules. The Live mail is able to do that, but instead of some kind of a
set of database files it keeps all the messages as separate files with some
additional accompanying files. Maybe this approach is more stable, I'm not
sure. Keeping in mind our huge hard drives it doesn't bite anyway. There are
a few bothering things that I can't avoid.
1. I added a dozen of different email accounts and got all of them on my
Folder Pane. But I don't want to see them!!! Is there any way to hide these
so-called folders or maybe make them at least optionally invisible?
2. I move all receiving messages from all the folder in 1^ to the Storage
Folders and that's convenient. I created many rules to move all messages and
keep them in the right order. But the email like folders are very annoying
for me.
3. When I move the Storage Folders to the top above all email like folders
this folder returns back to the bottom each time after I restart Live Mail
client. Who wrote this application??? Is is possible to store the position
and restore it? Hopefully it's fixable.
4. The worst thing - Outlook Express was able to reorder all the subfolders
alphabetically each time when I create a new subfolder and open the root
folder. It doesn't work now. Whatever I create the order is preserved so if
I add a new folder to the subfolder it will get stuck in the crazy position
exactly how and when I created it. So if I add a new subfolder starting with
the character 'A' it will be added to the very end of the folder list. Guys,
who is so lazy?
5. I was able to export/import all the email and newsgroup accounts easily
as well as the contacts. But how can I import the email message database
from Outlook Express folders? I got tons of business email messages that
should be imported. Should I import folder by folder email by email or there
is a simple way? I know about migration utility, but it doesn't work for me.
It simply doesn't understand the Outlook Express files. But this format is
so simple! Is it a big deal to import these message in one-two clicks having
a very powerful machine? Any ideas and suggestions will be highly
appreciated.
