One big thing Microsoft, Apple, and all CTOs can learn from Ubuntu

If Microsoft tried to "learn" anything from Ubuntu, they would be shooting

themselves in the foot. Microsoft is the leader and will continue to be the

leader for years to come. If anything, Ubuntu should be learning from

Microsoft.

Imagine, Ubuntu is FREE and has been FREE but most reject that silly OS as a

TOY. Windows costs money and people buy it by the millions. I wonder who

is doing things right?

Ubuntu is junk. Get over it Alias. Take off your blinders.

You didn't read the article.

Big numbers mean nothing. Around 12 million happy Ubuntu users say

you're full of shit again. The fact that you're proud of how MS tried to

become a monopoly is disgusting.

How would you know? You yourself said the longest you've used Ubuntu was

for five minutes.

You are right. Those numbers mean nothing. They can claim 100 billion

users of Ubuntu but the fact remains is Ubuntu won't be taking over anything

anytime soon. Live with it douche bag.

I never said I used Ubuntu for five minutes. I had that SHITTY Ubuntu on a

PC for a couple of days. It didn't take me long to realize what a piece of

SHIT it is because I know what I'm doing. Unlike yourself. Tell me again

why you don't go and help those sorry sacks in the Ubuntu forum? Tell me

why you spend your time here instead of helping out those sorry sacks?

And how long have you been using Linux?

Or will you tell us that you never used any other operating system?

After all, if the system is so wonderful why would you use a different

one?

My God! A whole three and a half years of computer experience and he

is an EXPERT. Ah the great advantage of the Internet. No need to go to

school, no need to learn the subject. Just open your mouth and let it

pour out - an instant expert!

Um, I have never claimed to be an expert. That said, I have been using

computers since 1984 when I bought the first Mac for 4000 US Dollars

which included an external floppy drive and a legal paper size printer.

I sold it in Venezuela for 6000 US Dollars.

Do you claim that you're an expert? Have you looked up "ad hominem" yet?

I have a friend who is a computer engineer who has worked for the DOD,

various universities, etc. and, strangely, he claims there is no such

thing as an "expert".

You are not an expert? then why are to telling us all this goop about

Ubuntu. Why, if you aren't an expert should we believe you? Perhaps

you are like the neighborhood dogs - sitting under a street light and

barking at the moon.

Your friend might be correct, it all depends on how he defines expert,

but based on the usual definition of expert: expert ~ noun

1. a person with special knowledge or ability who performs skillfully

why yes, I've known quite a number in various fields.

I post it as a computer user who is not an expert but has no problems

I don't care if you believe me. Intelligent people will try it out for

The words "special" and "skillfully" are subjective judgments and not

empirical facts.

So Alias, how long have you been sitting under a street light barking at the

Actually Ubuntu releases new versions way to often. Their releases is

often buggy, and you have to wait a month or two to upgrade to the latest

version. If you don't, then you'll run into problems.

Not in my opinion. I MUCH prefer a keyboard and mouse to the thumb

numbing Playstation control. Course, you do know that what you stated is

a subjective opinion or do you?

That hasn't been my experience since 07. Before that, there were some

problems but since then, I have upgraded on the date of the release with

no problems whatsoever. Course, I don't try to install a Canon printer

or anything stupid like that.

Of course it hasn't been your experience because all you do is post shit to

news groups. You wouldn't know a BUG if it bent you over and pried you off

your Sheep.

So Canon printers don't work with Ubuntu? Didn't think so.

Neither do Epson printers unless you can find a suitable printer on the

Epson Japanese web site!
