Media Center on Vista Ultimate 64 Always Crashes

I haven't been able to find a solution to this since I started using Vista
and it's one of the few frustrating things (along with I-Tunes crashing and
my Wacom tablet needing continual reinstalling) I have left with this OS that
won't work.

I'm running Ultimate 64 with an Audigy 1 and X1950XT graphics. Driver
updates have changed nothing and neither has installing every codec pack I
can find or the Windows Updates.

Basically, I load up Media Centre and it sits there looking at me, asking to
run express setup, full setup or run it later. If I pick run it later I can
access the menus and then a few seconds later it crashes to a black screen.
If I pick one of the setup options, it crashes instantly. I then get a
Windows error message saying Media Centre encountered a problem and Windows
will search for a solution (which it never finds). This can be recreated
every time I load it.

I have tried running Windows in Safe Mode and the exact same error happens.
Any ideas?
