Is Windows 7 Compatible w/Win2k DC?

D

Diane

We have a client running a Win2k domain, and just bought a new Win7 notebook.

Will we be able to add this system to the domain? I've searched for

information, but am unable to find a clear answer.

I would greatly appreciate any help in knowing whether this is possible, and

any gotchas if it is.

Thanks very much,

Diane

I've no experience of running Win7 on any domain, but I know that only Win7

Professional and above (that means Ultimate) can join a domain. Most

laptops are sold with Win7 Home or (mostly) Home Premium - these can't.

You'd have to upgrade them.

Hello Diane,

If the correct Windows 7 version is used, yoou can add it to the domain.

Professional or Ultimate edition is needed.
