Problem with services not starting on reboot

Burleyman

I have a few services COM+ System Application,Task Scheduler, and Distributed
Transaction Coordinator, that I have set to Automatic but when the server
gets reboot they reset themselves to disabled. I can then manually change
them back to automatic and then start them and the work fine but then when I
reboot the server back they go. Nothing in the event logs that point to
anything to check. Has anyone had this happen? Where should I begin? This
seems to have started after upgrading Sharepoint to SP2.

Have a look to GPO that apply to this server. Maybe a GPO is forcing some
services to "disable" and since it apply at startup, you may found some trail
by there!!

You might setup some auditing on the for mentioned service subkeys.
