I dont have a problem here, but
post this here in case someone
else face the same situation.

Misleading information from Notepad:
When i edit (file is windows\inf\applets.inf),
select all, copy and paste to a new file,
first time works with notepad.
paste again to the same target file
without quiting, this time doesn't work.

The error message is this:
"Not enough memory available to complete
this operation. Quit one or more applications
to increase available memory, and then
try again."

but when I apply it to EditPad (freeware), no problem at all.
So the problem is not because of insufficient memory,
but something is wrong with Notepad error message.

My PC : Win98SE 512MB ram.

It's not exactly an error in the Notepad error message. <g> It's because
there is some 64 Kb limit to Notepad.exe itself.
If you paste in something below that limit, there's no problem, but if you
exceed that amount (in a single sitting without having closed and then
re-opening it), then the "out of memory" error message gets displayed.
Regardless, it's quite a crummy text editor.

Solution is to use some other text editor other than the W9x Native version.
One such as what you're using. -) Alternatively, one can use Wordpad.exe if
they really enjoy a clumsy sort of thing.

I use both EditPad and another text editor called MetaPad. Metapad bears a
very close resemblence to Notepad.exe, has considerably greater flexibility
and functionality, while still remaining very lightweight and hasn't that
annoying 64Kb limit. -))
