Issue Description:
- Unable to activate Windows 7 Pro. Error Code: 0x8004f807.
- slmgr –dlv Error: 0xC004F012
- slmgr –ipk Error: 0x8004F807
- Slui gave the same error as ipk.
- Sppsvc was started.
- Even the KMS Client Key gives the same error!!
- No Anti Virus installed, its a Fresh install.
Steps tried:
- Checked the permission for everyone and administrator on C:\Users\Default\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft
- Checked the permission for Network Service on C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareProtectionPlatform
- Checked permission on HKU\S-1-5-20 for Network Service, were correct.
- Ran slmgr -rilc --> Ran successfully.
- Renamed tokens.dat and rebooted twice.
- Check the DCOM and WMI, Everything was fine.
- Run sfc /scannow and checksur, No corruptions or errors detected.
- Checked Registry HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Plug&Play and RSOP was not defined for Plug and Play.
One point of interest are the following Event ID’s.
Error JD10GD1.vt.dom 1017 Microsoft-Windows-Security-SPP N/A N/A Installation of the Proof of Purchase failed. 0x8004F807 Partial Pkey=-here ACID=? Detailed Error[?]
Error JD10GD1.vt.dom 1017 Microsoft-Windows-Security-SPP N/A N/A Installation of the Proof of Purchase failed. 0x8004F807 Partial Pkey=6YP87 ACID=? Detailed Error[?]
Error JD10GD1.vt.dom 14 Windows Activation Technologies N/A N/A Genuine validation failure: hr = 0x8004F807
I couldn’t find anything regarding the Event ID’s as well but I guess that the ACID is not getting generated and hence Key is getting installed but OS is not able to validate it.
Pulled out Microsoft Service Request Details and found only 4 Such issues reported since Windows 7 was released.
So guys any Idea why its happening?
