Dual booting vista 32 and vista 64

So is it possible to dual boot vista 32 and 64? I have equipment that
will only work in 32 bit but I have some 64 bit apps. So, it would be
cool to have the choice.

I also only have one DVD copy and one licence. It's vista home premium.

If it is possible, what's the procedure?

You could install VPC2007 and run one Vista in a Virtual Machine, probably
the 32. I'm not really sure of the licensing issues, but you could try and
if it works for you then I'd do it.

you can run 32 in 64 as far as I know!

The license does not allow for two installations Lee, even though they are
on the same machine. The license allows for an single install of either 32
or 64 bit, but not both. However, speaking technically now, it will work
provided OP has 64 bit hardware to install it on. Activation of the second
installation will require a phone call as the key will already be in use.

Virtual PC can only install on Vista Ultimate, Business, and Enterprise, not
Home Premium or Basic. Plus, only MSDN/Technet versions of Home Premium or
Basic can be installed into a VPC. Stupid and senseless limitation that it
is, but it is what it is.

Have you tried this? Last time I tried, the original install would start
shutting down the next call in, which for me was about 1 hour after I booted
back to the original.

For me, a second install invalidated the first install. You can't use the
same key on two installs.

VPC07 will install on Home Premium, and works just fine. It's just not
officially supported by MS.

Thanks. I tried VPC but the lidcence issue reared it's ugly head. Didn't
work for me. Also got all kinds of error messages trying to use my
outboard stuff. (music studio)

My hardware supports 64 bit archtecture. I have an ASUS P5N E-SLI mobo
and intel quad core 6600. I can use 32 bit apps of course but drivers
don't work. It looks like I'll have to wait for early fall for the
drivers to catch up.:mad:

Yeah, I know, special needs... If I had done my research better I would
have gone with a dual core and windows XP instead of adopting these
immature technologies.

Could I perhaps, if I bought another copy, re-partition my system drive
and then be able to dual-boot?
