Changing from a hotmail profile to a Local Account profile

My W8 machine lives on a LAN with four other computers (W7 and XP). I was led down the garden path to installing W8 with a hotmail profile, but I really need to change it to a local account to match the other four computers on the LAN. How
can I do this so the w7 and xp machines can exchange files with the w8 machine?
