Today Windows Update gave me a list of non-critical updates. I proceeded to select them and install them. However, for the past nine hours the progress bar "Preparing to install..." has not progressed. When I click the Stop installation
button it says "You need to provide administrator permission. To complete this task, you need to sign in with an administratrator account or ask an administrator to complete the task for you."
How do I provide administrator permission? How do I sign in with an administrator account (mine is already an administrator account except that the name is not called administrator) without stopping this task?
Is there a bug? The Stop installation button shouldn't be giving such a message. In the first place, administrator permission was needed to start this task.
