Windows 8 Search Problem

I recently upgraded from Windows 7 (64bit) to Windows 8 Pro. At my start screen I can not search my computer by just typing. Nor can I search my computer from the search in the charms menu. When I try to search for files, programs and apps on my computer
it automatically says &quotThis app can't be search.&quot I have tried rebooting and it did nothing, please help.
