SMART reporting says the hard drive where my OS is located is failing. WHS v1 says the drive is healthy. Crystal Drive Info say ID 5-Reallocated sectors count is bad Current=1, Worst=1, Threshold=5. I have run chkdsk which repaired a ton
of bad sectors. System boots fine but it seems like prudence would replace the drive.
My setup:
3 1GB hard drives
SATA 1 - drive C: and part of drive D:
SATA 2 - remainder of drive d:
SATA 3 - data backup disk
Duplication is on. Approx 50% of drive space on shared drives (1 & 2) is in use. Although I can remove drive 2, I cannot remove drive 1.
As I understand it, I simply remove the failing drive, replace it with a new drive, and if I am lucky I get the Reinstall option, then WHS rebuilds itself.
