Hi,
I upgraded my PC from Windows 7 to 8 and it was running fine until a few weeks ago. It had a problem closing down one day and ran scandisk the next time it booted. Everything seemed fine initially, but now, everytime it is left for a short while,
the PC will blue screen and then reboot itself.
Checking the event log, I can see the following error:
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000051 (0x0000000000000001, 0xfffff8a000bdb010, 0x00000000999ea3a1, 0x00000000000001c0). A dump was saved in: C:WINDOWSMEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 020813-24703-01.
From the research I've done I believe this is an error with the registry. I've run Memtest86 as I thought the memory might be faulty, but the memory in the PC seems fine. I've tried using System Restore to go back to an earlier point in time, but it
fails every time, after running for a good 10-15 minutes.
I've worked on PCs for almost 20 years but am completely stumped here and as I use the PC for music production, I really don't want to have to reinstall, as it will take days to reinstall all of my applications and data.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I could scan/repair the registry?
I've uploaded the latest minidump file to Skydrive, if anyone is able to take a look at it. https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=E6ED803B55B49D6C!107&ampauthkey=!AFljXsfb25IH5ec
Thanks for any assistance you can offer!
Regards
Andrew
