Tiles not working

I just upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8 and none of the tiles except Maps works. They just seem to load for EVER, leaving me in front of a blue screen. I tried everything: changing the screen resolution, creating another user account,
running all sorts of tests, multiple restarts, turning off my antivirus, deleting the ole key etc. It looks like a lot of other people have the same problem yet there has been no solution. Microsoft should never release something not functioning!
