Spybot Warning

Just curious if anyone else has received this warning message from spybot.
The following popped up in a dialog box after finishing the latest update
from yesterday, with a red 'x' in the upper left corner:
"An outsider did inject malicious code into this application!
It is strongly recommended that you do a full check-up of your system,
including anti malware and anti virus scans."
Personally I am not concerned, with my pc being fully protected at all
times.
Is this one of those schemes Shane was talking about, or must it be taken
seriously?

Harry.

I didn't get that message yesterday. I would take it seriously if I were
you.

The reason for posting was, that it is not addressed personally, it would
effect everyone using the application.
Myself, I use the necessary precautions without 'lecture', thanks.

Harry.

Hey, it's your computer, taking it seriously or not is totally up to you.

Hey Alias......ignore him. He is usually about 3 bricks short!! No one
else seems to have had HIS problem, so just let him go on and eventually
he will be whinging about something else.

I wonder if he ever found that missing half of a hard drive (40 gig)
after messing about with Partition Magic when he knew d*ckall about it.
Snicker. I figure the local computer repairman knows him well.

I cringe when he comes on the antivirus groups and offers his *expert
opinion*......ACK!! I do not let on I know him. (G)

Yeah, you tried allright, which can't be said of 'the canada goose'.
I was determined to install ubuntu, but my system simply will not accept it.
But that is, as they say: "water down the drain".
All that really matters is, things are 'perfectly aligned' in my sphere.

Not to butt in here, 'but', there is no such thing as, "> Personally I am
not concerned, with my pc being fully protected at all
times.<"..........referring, to the 'fully protected' part. If this were
true, the Pentagon would be calling on you for tips.
I have seen no other reports about the 'malicious code' you mentioned and I
have not witnessed it on either machine in this house. Admittedly, this
sounds like a ploy used by unscrupulous vendors to peddle a product,
however, you seem to be alone in the warning. Did the warning come from the
Spybot app?? If so, (and if it were mine), I would be doing some serious
searching. JMHO, I could be wrong.

Since you respond in such nice and civil manner, H, it answers my original
question and I can answer yours, by the same token:
when the scan finished and before I got the warning message, there was an
entry on spybot by the name "MainPean". I performed some research on this
and discovered there were other people having the same problem and probably
getting the same message. They "fixed" it with spybot and it was gone. I did
the same thing and to be sure there were no remnants, I searched my machine
and found nothing.
Supposedly this "MainPean" is a malicious "Dialer" (I thought at first it
was a necessary program in C:/WINDOWS). Don't know how it got there, but I
did have protection against it and abandoned it a little while ago, since I
never had any trouble with it before.
Appreciate your objectivity, H, thanks.
