Hi guys,
In the gap between our new laptop model and Windows 8 release we purchased about 35 machines which came with a Windows 7 Pro COA. All the new laptops now come with a Win 8 Pro license.
As we will be using a Win 8 Pro MAK to deploy Windows 8 for these machines, I have been tasked with purchasing Win 8 licenses for these 35 machines through the Windows 8 upgrade offer.
My question is, legally speaking, will we be licensed to deploy Win 8 Pro using the MAK key's we currently have if the Win 8 pro license is purchased through the upgrade offer?
So instead of 'Purchase laptop with Win8 Pro --> Deploy using MAK key'
It will be 'Purchase laptop with Win7 Pro key --> Upgrade to Win8 Pro license --> Deploy using MAK'
I'm fairly certain that it wont be an issue but just wondering if anyone has some concrete information?
