I am having the same problem: Microsoft says my Windows 7 is not genuine but I know it is?

I have been reading some of the other similar problems in this forum but the problem is, the solutions suggested did not work for me:

My COA sticker is no longer readable.
My System Restore Point was turned off (I don't know why)
sfc scans did not report any problem
slui.exe 4 for me does not have a "call-someone" function (I think it is because I'm in some far-flung country)
I scanned my computer with Security essentials and it did not detect malware or anything
and lastly, I don't want to buy an activation key!

My laptop is not first-owned but I am sure that my OS is genuine because I had this for 2 years (?) and I have been updating the OS whenever Windows asks me. The "not-genuine" message appeared just a few days ago and I'm not even connected to the Internet
when it did.
