Why does file history reset folder timestamps?

This is the first time I need to recover files from my file history backup. I noticed that the folders are all having the current timestamp, instead of the original timestamp. I expected it to be the same. In fact, I work a lot with those timestamps and
it is very confusing having all the folders the timestamp as of now!
Why is that?
