windows 8 repair program

hello--i have a toshiba 850 2 mths old--running windows 8--i was running windows update and it restarted my laptop--but then came up with a blue screen with a file error message -saying a boot up file is missing-and asking me to run the repair prog--trouble
is its on my hdd--and i cannot acces it--how can i get round this please
