Track transfer of files from desktop system

Good day. I have a situation that I would appreciate some feedback. We
recently had a Manager who moved to a direct competitor and are trying to
ascertain if he would have transferred files. No keystroke logging problems
were installed and I do not think that there is any way to recall this type
of data. I would appreciate your thoughts on this. The system in place in
XP Service pack 2.

There is really nothing the default Windows system can do for you
on that matter. The issue is that the individual probably should have
been allowed read on the files about which you have concern. The
system holding the files does not control what is done with them
after they have been read (i.e. emailed, saved to thumbdrive, etc.).
Similarly, the system does not audit what is done with them. Some
of the gap could be closed with what comes with Windows, but it
would have to have been done beforehand.
